Sutton station train delays live: Updates as Southern and Thameslink services stopped after person hit by train

Southern and Thameslink services into London have been halted this afternoon (October 25) after a person was hit by a train near Sutton station.

Ambulance crews are currently working on the situation near the incident.

The update on traffic and travel scanner Inrix reads: “Services suspended on Southern and Thameslink between Mitcham Junction and Epsom due to emergency services dealing with an incident.”

Thameslink wrote about the incident on Twitter.

The tweet reads: “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Mitcham Junction and Epsom.

“All lines are blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident.”

Southern railways have also provided an update on their services in the wake of the event.

A statement reads: “All lines are blocked whilst the emergency services deal with this tragic incident.

“Trains between London and Sutton/Wimbledon will run to Wimbledon via Tooting only. Trains between Epsom and London Bridge will not run.

“Trains which run between London Victoria and Horsham via Sutton will run between Dorking and Horsham only.

“Trains between London Victoria & Epsom Downs will run between London Victoria and Selhurst only Stations between Mitcham Eastfields and Wimbledon Chase will not be served.”
