Train delays: Major disruption as all train lines blocked at Cambridge – live updates

Overhead wire damage has blocked all lines at Cambridge Station today (October 20), causing major disruption.

Trains running through the station may be cancelled, delayed or revised and the disruption is expected until 1pm today.

Great Northern and Thameslink have asked customers not to attempt to travel between Cambridge North, Cambridge and Royston.

It added that its trains are currently unable to run in or out of Cambridge and does not anticipate resuming services until 12:30, at the earliest.

Additionally, CrossCountry services will be cancelled between Cambridge and Stansted Airport. Audley End will not be served.

Customers who had planned to travel between Cambridge and Stansted Airport can claim a full refund from the point of purchase or travel later today when a normal service may resume.

Greater Anglia advises people not to travel between Bishops Stortford and Cambridge due to the issues. It adds that Norwich to Stansted services will operate between Norwich and Cambridge.
