With the end of the year creeping up on us, we’re going to need something new, something to keep us going and to give us something to accomplish during our short, cold and dark days.
To break the winter blues, a good start would be to step out of your comfort zone and try breaking a sweat to release endorphins.

The Sky Garden at the top of the Walkie Talkie is a wonderfully serene spot to do some yoga – it’s light, spacious and packed with foliage. The classes follow a vinyasa flow style so expect to break a gentle sweat.
During the week they take place at 6.30am which means you get to watch the city wake up as you practice your sun salutations. There are also weekend classes which begin at 8am to get you up and out of bed.

You may have already heard about Barry’s with its iconic red rooms.
Each class is high intensity interval training where you can burn up to 1,000 calories in one workout. If you need a challenge and a different atmosphere then this class will get you moving along to the beats.
You can choose classes with both treadmill and strength training, or you can avoid the treadmill altogether. Either way it will be an exhilarating experience.

If you can’t decide between ballet, yoga, and Pilates then Barre core allows you to combine all three and reap all of those benefits. These classes will work your muscles in a very unusual way.
You’re probably not going to sweat a whole lot during your Barre core class. Instead, the method focuses on exhausting your muscles with movements that bring your muscles into a “shake”.
It is a low-impact, high-intensity workout designed for all levels of fitness and these classes will help you feel strong and confident in your own body and mind.

Another mood boosting option would be to dedicate your hour of exercise to your favourite artist. Even on a bad day your favourite tune can lift your spirits. The hint is in the title with these classes being good for the soul.
