BBC Strictly Come Dancing: Chaos as Ugo Monye pulls out of this week’s live show – just a day after another star quit

Ugo Monye has pulled out of this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing live show.

The Rugby star, who is partnered with Oti Mabuse, said ongoing problems with his back were to blame for his decision.

The announcement follows the dramatic exit of Robert Webb, who quit the competition due to “ill-health” yesterday (October 13).

Ugo Monye said back problems were to blame for his absence from this weekend’s show

“I have a history of back problems which has always been managed under the guidance of medical professionals.

Fellow Strictly star Dan Walker, who is partnered with Nadiya Bychkova, showed his support in the replies, writing: “Really sorry to hear that Ugo.

“Take care of yourself… and that back of yours. If I’m still here… I’ll see you next week.”

It is assumed Ugo will return to the show next week, provided his back has healed, and he is currently one of the favourites to reach the final.

Ugo’s professional dance partner, Oti, has won the coveted glitterball trophy for the past two years with partners Kelvin Fletcher and Bill Bailey.

While Ugo may return to the show, Robert Webb has pulled out indefinitely to undergo emergency surgery on his heart for a mitral valve prolapse.

According to Metro.co.uk, both the main show and elimination show will go on as planned.
