Girl, 10, left in critical condition after being hit by a car in South London

A 10 year old girl has been left severely injured following a serious crash in South London yesterday (Sunday 10 October).

Police were called to the scene at 12.45pm after reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Merritt Road at its junction with Brockley Road.

The pedestrian has been identified as a 10 year old girl who was taken to a south London hospital, where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

The Met say that the driver of the vehicle is helping officers with their enquiries, which are ongoing.

Brockley road was closed and traffic was reportedly slow yesterday although this has since been resolved.
