Furious Londoners confront parking warden who ‘ticketed them on their driveways’

Londoners were left furious after a parking inspector allegedly left tickets on their cars while they were parked in their own driveways.

In strange footage posted to TikTok, the furious residents gathered outside their homes with cars seen behind them with yellow tickets on the windscreens.

One man is seen holding his car keys as he questions the inspector as he prepares to leave on a moped, on what is thought to be a London street, as reported by the MirrorOnline.

Another man stands with crutches in a dressing gown and slippers, while a third points bewildered at a car on their driveway.

The man with crutches says: “That’s my house. That’s not the council’s, that’s private.”

It is unclear which street the incident occurred on or which council it falls under the authority of.

However, one commenter wrote: “London getting a ticket on private property.”

Another added: “Can you imagine getting a ticket on your own driveway.”

And another: “They can’t do that surely?”

However, some users said the ticket warden is actually correct because the driveways do not have a dropped kerb in front of them.

“Because these houses don’t have drop kerbs they [are] not allowed to park there,” one explained.

Legally, in order to use an area as a driveway, a dropped kerb is required on the adjacent pathway.

If there isn’t and damage is caused, the homeowner could be liable to pay for the costs of fixing it.

One user said: “There’s no drop kerb so technically you can parallel park in front of their house and it will block them in.

“He’s doing you a favour by fining them.”
