Fighter jets over London and Essex: RAF planes flying towards Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for NFL game

RAF fighter jets seen in the skies of Essex were heading towards London for a big sporting event.

Four planes were seen in the skies of Chelmsford for the second time this week, causing excitement across social media as people wondered what the huge roaring noise was.

The planes were on their way to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London for today’s NFL game (Sunday, October 10).

The jets did a practice flight before the match, and then another over the stadium as the match started at 2.30pm.

They’re referencing the New York Jets, who are playing today at the stadium against the Atlanta Falcons.

Four jets seen flying over Chelmsford this afternoon

The previous sighting of jets in Chelmsford, on Wednesday (October 6), was an unrelated incident.

The planes were flying from RAF Mildenhall over Essex that day.
