BBC The One Show: Angelica Bell’s whirlwind marriage to CBBC co-star where they were the only guests

Angelica Bell has been a familiar face on TV for two decades.

Today she’s best known for her presenting appearances on The One Show and The Martin Lewis Money Show, or from Celebrity MasterChef which she won in 2017.

But she actually started out her career in kids TV at CBBC, where she met the man who would later become her second husband.

She made her CBBC debut in 2000, after earning a BA in Politics from the University of the West of England.

Angellica soon became one of the main anchor of shows including 50/50, That’s Genius! and Xchange.

It was while working on these shows that she met Michael Underwood, however, it wasn’t until almost a decade later that the pair would enter a relationship.

She soon left CBBC and began to present from behind the scenes of the EastEnders studios in Three’s EastEnders Extra.

In January 2017 she married personal trainer Stuart Amory, but the two divorced the following year in 2008.

Her and Michael eventually got together after this, and 2010 they married in Manhattan, New York, 10 years after the pair first met in 2000 on the children’s network.

Speaking about their wedding, which the pair attended alone, Angellica told Great British Life: “We’d planned to get married in a villa in Tuscany in the spring, but when our rings arrived ahead of schedule, a cheeky little thought entered our heads and we decided to get married right away.

“We’d already intended going to New York for Christmas anyway, and thought it would be fitting to get married in the same place where we’d got engaged the year before.”

Michael and Angelica have two children together, their son Elijah, nine, and daughter Keziah, seven.

As well as CBBC, Michael has presented on many shows including ITV’s GMTV, Surprise Surprise and Heart FM.

In 2020, due to lack of work, Michael announced he was retiring from presenting and had become a teacher, but soon returned as the host of Channel 4 daytime show ‘Tool Club’.

Together the couple fronted the 500 Words: Black Lives Matter children’s writing competition on Virgin Radio.
