London crime: Thieves of stolen car hit pedestrian as they fled police in East London

Four people have been arrested after a stolen black Fiesta hit a pedestrian in East London during a police pursuit.

At 4.57pm on September 28, police officers in an unmarked vehicle spotted a stolen black Fiesta being driven on East India Dock Road in Tower Hamlets.

The officers indicated for the car to stop but the driver didn’t comply, and a pursuit began.

A police spokesperson said that moments later, the car struck a pedestrian at the junction of Cotton Street and Poplar High Street before being stopped by the pursuing police vehicle.

The four people in the car were arrested for offences including robbery, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

They remain in custody.

Three people were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
