Appeal as elderly man, 80, victim of distraction burglary
Police are investigating a distraction burglary at the home of an elderly man in Barry.
Two male suspects, claiming to be from the water board, knocked on the man’s door in Barrians Way at around 5pm on Sunday, September 26.
They asked to check his water supply but once inside they pushed him onto the sofa then stole money, tobacco and a mobile phone.
Thankfully the 80-year-old victim was not injured and although he is shaken up by the incident, he has told officers he feels safe and secure.
He is being fully supported as officers carry out enquiries to identify and arrest those responsible.
