EastEnders legend Jake Wood in heart breaking appeal for help after his friend’s son dies of rare cancer

Jake Wood has shared a heart-breaking appeal for help after his friend’s son died of a rare form of cancer.

The ex-EastEnders star’s friend Ceri lost his son Hugh on September 18 to rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of sarcoma which is more common in children, 11 months after Hugh was diagnosed.

Jake shared the link to a fundraiser in Hugh’s memory for children’s cancer charity Alice’s Arc with the caption: “Please help if you can. My friend @ceridavis83 lost his son Hugh to this awful disease and is now fundraising in his name. Thank you.”

The fundraiser has already raised more than £8,000.

Jake’s fans rushed to express their support.

One wrote: “Jesus Christ how would u ever deal with this kind of loss. Sending love hope and positivity xxxx”
