Police have issued an arrest warrant for the rapper and grime artist Wiley after he failed to attend a court hearing to face charges of burglary and assault at a flat in East London.
The artist, whose real name is Richard Kylea Cowie Jr, is accused of breaking into a property in Bethnal Green belonging to former kickboxer Ali Jacko on August 28.
He was on conditional bail and due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court in East London today (September 27).

Mr Cowie, 42, of New Village Avenue, Poplar east London, faces charges of assault by beating and burglary with intent to cause criminal damage.
He is alleged to have smashed plates and assaulted Mr Ali Jacko at his Forest Gate flat.

Today’s hearing was due to take place after an adjournment was granted earlier this month to allow Cowie more time to apply for legal aid and speak to his lawyers.
The district judge Ross Johnson issued a warrant which will enable him to be arrested and brought to court.
The rapper, known as the Godfather of Grime, was awarded an MBE in 2018 for services to music is understood to have been using Mr Jacko’s recording studio before the pandemic.
