Channel 4 Britain’s Forgotten Wars: Tony Robinson’s marriage to woman 35 years his junior and why their age gap ‘isn’t a problem’ for them

Tony Robinson returns to our screens tonight in his latest TV documentary, Channel 4’s Britain’s Forgotten Wars.

It’s just the latest project for the 75-year-old history fanatic who’s never far from the nation’s viewing habits.

But while most people know Tony for his acting an documentary work, he’s also appeared on a fair few panel shows, and on one of them viewers got a very interesting look at his marriage to a woman 35 years his junior.

Sir Tony Robinson went on to become a TV historian after Blackadder

Tony married wife Louise Hobbs, 40, in 2011 on the Amalfi coast in a secret ceremony.

And in 2016, a trip to the Loose Woman sofa yielded up some interesting facts, reports the MirrorOnline.

The presenter was surrounded by the Loose Women panel and almost seemed lost for words when his second wife’s age was brought up by Stacey Solomon.

Quizzed by Janet Street-Porter, Stacey Solomon, June Sarpong and Ruth Langsford, Tony stuttered as Stacey asked if his wife was actually younger than his daughter from his first marriage.

Flagging the 35-year age gap, Stacey couldn’t stop herself from saying: “Oh! She’s young. Not that you’re old”.
