Police appeal for help finding missing woman from East London

Police say they are “concerned” for the welfare of a 26-year-old woman who has gone missing from Tower Hamlets.

Penka Petkova is missing from her home within the E3 postcode.

At this stage it is unclear how long Penka has been missing for, or where she was last seen.

Anybody who sees Penka, or has information about her possible whereabouts, is asked to contact police and quote reference CAD 8265/24Sept21.

A statement from Tower Hamlet Police on Twitter on Saturday night said: “#Missing #TowerHamlets Police are concerned for 26 year old Penka Petkova who is missing from her home in E3.

“Please call police quoting CAD 8265/24Sept21 if you see her.”

According to missingpeople.org.uk, nearly 98,000 adults are reported missing in the UK each year.

Thankfully 75 per cent of those are located within 24 hours, rising to 85 per cent after 48 hours.

However, five per cent will be missing for longer than a week and as of March 2020 there were 5,300 “long-term missing individuals” in the UK – the term applied to people who have been missing for more than a year.
