Christmas 2021: How to get to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park from Hertfordshire by train

One of the UK’s biggest Christmas events is back for 2021.

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London, is a massive festive event that sees people travel from all over the country, and sometimes even further afield.

There is ice skating, a giant wheel, Zippos Christmas Circus and Cirque Berserk shows, an ICE bar, the Magical Ice Kingdom and so much more.

Winter Wonderland also has rows and rows of market stalls selling festive goods, decorations and lovely gifts.

Around the event there will be plenty of food and drink available so you really can make a full day of it.

Last year the event wasn’t able to go ahead due to the pandemic but it is well and truly back for 2021.

All visitors must now book a timed slot for when they arrive – once in they are allowed to stay as long as they like (until it closes).

The cost of the tickets depends on when you would like to get into Winter Wonderland.

Off-peak: Free

Standard: £5

Peak: £7.50

This year, Winter Wonderland will be open from November 19, 2021 to January 3, 2022.

How to get to Winter Wonderland from Herts

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London

Plenty of Hertfordshire residents will be visiting Winter Wonderland this year.

There are many ways to get there, but one of the easiest is by train. Here’s how to get to Winter Wonderland from areas across Herts.

Watford

If you are travelling from Watford Junction you can get to London Euston in around 25 minutes.

There is a fast train service every 10 minutes.

Trains from Watford High Street take around 45 minutes with a fast train every eight and 15 minutes.

If you are coming from Watford North it takes about 35 minutes to get to Euston, there’s a fast service every 45-50 minutes.

Once at Euston you need to get the Underground to Winter Wonderland.

You can get the Northern Line to Tottenham Court Road and then the Central Line to Marble Arch.

Alternatively you can take the Northern Line to Leicester Square and then the Piccadilly Line to Green Park or Hyde Park Corner.

Stevenage, Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City

For the most direct route to Winter Wonderland from Stevenage, Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City you want to get a train to London Kings Cross.

From there you can take either the Victoria or Piccadilly Line to Green Park.

St Albans

To get to Winter Wonderland from St Albans, Hertfordshire, you need to get a train to St Pancras which will take around 30 minutes.

From there take the Underground.

You need the Victoria or Piccadilly Line to Green Park to travel on towards Hyde Park.
