West Ham team confirmed vs Leeds United as David Moyes makes Antonio and Areola decisions

West Ham manager David Moyes has made wholesale changes from the team which defeated Manchester United on Wednesday evening.

The Scot has returned to the familiar looking Premier League from last weekend that fell to a late defeat against the Red Devils.

In total there are ten changes to the mid-week team but just the one from Sunday’s encounter. The only man to retain his place from the 1-0 win is Jarrod Bowen while Michail Antonio replaces Nikola Vlasic in the one change from last weekend’s match.

Moyes has opted to return to Lukasz Fabianski in goal ahead of the mid-week debutant Alphonse Areola.

The manager has returned to what seems to be his first-choice back four of Aaron Cresswell, Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma and Vladimir Coufal in defence.

The midfield pair as expected are Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, with Rice once again donning the armband.

With Antonio returning to the team, Bowen drops back to an attacking midfield role and will start on the right with Vlasic named amongst the substitutes. Bowen will line up alongside Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma behind lone striker Antonio.

The XI chosen today have a settled look with Kurt Zouma the only summer signing to make the team. Areola and Vlasic are joined by fellow new boy Alex Kral on the bench. The Czech international put in an excellent shift on his debut but with Rice and Soucek ahead of him his starts are expected to be limited to cup appearances for the time being.

Arthur Masuaku came through his first start this season without any issues on Wednesday night and is pushing for first-team recall on a regular basis, but has not been included in the squad today. The star performers in midweek, Craig Dawson and Issa Diop, offer Moyes cover in central-defence should he require it.
