Live updates as man in 30s stabbed to death in East London

A man believed to be in his 30s has been stabbed to death in Tower Hamlets this evening (September 21).

Police were called to reports of a group of males fighting on East Ferry Road just before 8.30pm.

Officers and paramedics, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer as well as London’s Air Ambulance, attended the scene to find a man suffering with stab injuries.

Officers administered CPR prior to the arrival of the London Ambulance Service. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Images on social media showed ambulance, police and onlookers crowded around where the main fell in the middle of the road.

One picture showed paramedics apparently packing up after having failed to save the man’s life, with a spotlight overlooking the patch of tarmac where he died.

The man’s identity is yet to be confirmed and police have not yet informed his family.

Police enquiries are ongoing and they urge anyone who has information to call 101 ref CAD 7234/ 21 Sept.
