Lorraine Kelly paid tribute to her mum on her 80th birthday yesterday, as well as sharing some gorgeous photos of the family celebrating in London.
The TV star wrote in a diary for HELLO! that they were “delighted” Anne was able to visit them all from Scotland on her big day.
And they certainly looked delighted judging from the photos. The family are smiling at the camera and lifting a glass of champagne in one, while Anne is about to enjoy an ice cream in another.
Lorraine added the heartwarming comment: “No one can actually believe she is in her eightieth year as she looks incredibly young and even more importantly has a really youthful outlook on life.”

Intriguingly, the 80 year old would have apparently “made a brilliant journalist and interviewer”, with the ITV presenter attributing her sense of curiosity to her mother.
Perhaps because of this, Anne is one of Lorraine’s most dedicated reviewers: “She watches my show every morning and gives constructive, but very honest feedback, which is invaluable, and I am sure she could do a far better job at interviewing celebs than me.
“She knows all the latest gossip and breaking news and the latest fashion trends and soap storylines.”
The TV star wrote that unfortunately her dad wasn’t well enough to travel, but the duo along with her daughter Rosie have “just been spending time together”, which has included some shopping and nice meals.
Lorraine included an anecdote that gave us a little insight into Anne’s character: “Mum doesn’t keep things for best and happily wears her ‘posh’ shoes when going for a walk with Angus, and her designer scarf to do the shopping.”
She continued: “She also sleeps like a baby and never gets anxious or upset about things that she either can’t change or that don’t matter.”

Apparently, this, as well as moisturising religiously and drinking enough water, are the reasons behind the 80 year old’s “glowing skin”.
Lorraine added that when people say she looks younger than her age of 62, it is all thanks to her mum’s “fantastic genes”.
The star signed off: “I can only hope I look as good when I turn eighty.”
