The birth of Beatrice’s baby would mark the 12th great-grandchild for Her Majesty, and the royal’s first child with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Beatrice already has a stepson named Wolfie from Edoardo’s previous relationship.
The 33-year-old’s child will be the fourth royal baby this year, and in a statement earlier this year, Buckingham Palace confirmed Princess Beatrice’s baby was due in the autumn.
The 2021 birth follows August Philip Hawke Brooksbank born to Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie and partner Jack Brooksbank, Lucas Philip Tindall born to Zara and Mike Tindall, and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the second child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Beatrice’s baby arrival was speculated by a royal expert, who reported that the princess was at a London hospital.
Australia’s Sunrise royal editor Robert Jobson tweeted on the morning of Sunday, September 19 speculating that the birth of the Queen’s 12th great grandchild was “imminent”.
The royal contributor for ABC and GMA said: “Princess Beatrice is reportedly in a London hospital. Looks like the birth of The Queen’s 12th great-grandchild imminent.”
Royal fans expressed their well-wishes for Beatrice following the claims, with some even speculating whether she would honour a member of the Royal Family with the baby’s name, in a similar vein to her sister Eugenie.
Princess Eugenie’s baby August Philip Hawke Brooksbank born in February 2021, gets his first name from Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert, whose middle name was Augustus.
While Philip pays homage to Eugenie’s grandfather and August’s great-grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April aged 99.

The princess married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 38, in July 2020 in a socially distanced wedding, after their original nuptials were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fans have spotted Princess Beatrice’s growing baby bump over the summer, including when the senior royal was seen attending Wimbledon with her husband.
The royal was also spotted at a garden party to mark a special anniversary for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, for which the princess is a royal patron.
Images from the event show the senior royal beaming at a small child, with the baby extending a delighted toothless grin back at her, an interaction fans will likely see between the royal and her own baby in the future.
