Mark Noble sends West Ham fans message ahead of Dinamo Zagreb Europa League curtain-raiser

West Ham captain Mark Noble has sent an exciting message to all West Ham fans ahead of their Europa League opener against European regulars in the form of Dinamo Zagreb.

Noble could make a rare start on Thursday after barely featuring in any of the east London club’s first four Premier League games of this new 2021/22 campaign.

In fact, a two-minute cameo from the bench against Leicester City is all the action that has been afforded to the highly experienced midfielder by manager David Moyes.

Regardless of whether or not he starts the opening Europa League encounter, West Ham’s No.16 is excited ahead of the big game against the Eastern European side.

He said in his pre-match press conference when speaking alongside Moyes: “It would be an incredibly proud moment for me, but whether I wear it tomorrow or not, my job is to support the team.

“When I’ve not been playing, Declan’s come in and is a fantastic player and has done great for us. We’ve also got some incredibly experienced players in our team now – Ogbonna, Cresswell, Dawson, Fabianski – other players with experience of European football.

“The main aim is to win and hopefully we can put on a show for our travelling fans.”

There will be a raucous and loud crowd at the Maksimir Stadium come kick-off, with 20,000 fans expected to be in attendance for this Europa League Group H clash.

Thee are an expected 2,000 Irons fans who will have the privilege of embarking on the European adventure with this current cohort of West Ham players, and Noble says he is expecting fantastic support as usual.

“I think they’re just over the moon that they can watch us play again, and it’s an added bonus we’re playing in Europe again,” the 34-year-old said.

“I’d also say it’s a bonus they probably see it as a three day holiday instead of an overnight

“The weather’s great and I’ve heard the nightlife in Zagreb is pretty good as well, so I don’t think they’ll be sitting in their hotel rooms!

“Everywhere we’ve been in the world, whether it’s pre-season games in Europe or in the Premier League, we always get fantastic support. We’re used to that.

“Dinamo are aware we’ve got fantastic support as well so I’m hoping the atmosphere is great tomorrow night, and we’re hoping that we can leave with a win because after the 18 months we’ve had without fans in, for us to come back into the Europa League and give our fans a European win would be fantastic.

“The games are coming thick and fast and we are lucky to have a fully fit squad of players the manager can choose from, and we’re really looking forward to tomorrow night.”
