A school and a leisure centre have been evacuated after a ‘bomb threat’ this afternoon.

The Met Police said: ‘A number of cordons are currently in place near a school in #ClissoldRoad, #StokeNewington, following a report of a bomb threat.

‘The school, nearby properties and a leisure centre have been evacuated as a precaution.

‘Enquiries are ongoing.’

In December last year, staff and pupils at Stoke Newington School in Clissold Road were evacuated because it had received a bomb threat.

The Met Police cordoned off the area, but Hackney Police later confirmed the school had been searched and nothing suspicious found.
