Harlequins Women secure all five points after 31-66 victory.
Harlequins Women secured their second bonus point win of the season after a 31-66 win over Worcester Warriors at Sixways Stadium.
Nine tries including a hat-trick from England international Ellie Kildunne was enough to secure Quins the victory.
Harlequins started brightly and took the lead after four minutes through winger Heather Cowell. Moments later the reigning Champions scored their second try through the electric Ellie Kildunne after quick ball through the hands of the backs.
Despite the fast start the hosts were piling on the pressure as Quins were pinned back in their own 22. Warriors found themselves camped on the Harlequins try line and deservedly scored their first try of them game through Alycia Washington.
The home side then found themselves in the driving seat as they added their second try of the afternoon shortly after Cowell was shown yellow for not rolling away at the breakdown.
After ten minutes of end-to-end rugby Quins’ hard work was finally rewarded as openside flanker Bethan Dainton raced through to put Quins two scores ahead. Despite the success, Warriors struck right back with a third try of their own after charging down a Harlequins attempted clearance. Half-time Worcester Warriors 17 – 21 Harlequins.
The side from South West London started the second half at a rate of knots, extending their lead within the first minute of the second 40 through scrum-half Emma Swords who scored her first try for Quins since returning from Saracens in the summer.
Quins started to take control of the game and within the space of two minutes hooker Amy Cokayne had two tries to her name with the first coming after the renowned unstoppable Quins maul powered over line and the second coming through a 25-metre sprint after spotting a gap in the Worcester defensive line.
Blindside flanker Lauren Brooks joined in on the try scoring frenzy as she found herself racing towards the line under pressure, but the forward was able to score another five points for the visitors.
Impact player Izzy Mayhew was introduced to the game and with her first touch was able to dive over in the corner adding to Quins’ lead.
Winger Ellie Kildunne then rounded off a positive afternoon for Quins as she dotted down twice to both complete her hat-trick making sure that Harlequins head back to South West London with the maximum five points.
