Being a successful title winning sports star is something only a small few accomplish in life.

The dedication, sacrifice and hard work required from a young age, to take home gold, is simply not something all of us are built to achieve.

But those who win the Grand Slams and obtain the record breaking glory walk among us, and might be honing their skills at your local secondary school.

One teenager is showing how talent and commitment can pay off and land you in the semi-finals of the US Open.

The teenager only just collected her impressive an A* in maths and an A in economics for her A-level results from Newstead Wood School in Orpington, but clearly success knows no bounds with the athlete.

On September 10, the competitor will go head-to-head with Maria Sakkari in New York at 2pm BST and potentially take it all the way to making history.

The national sensation has even had British tennis fans suggesting Wimbledon’s famous Henman Hill to be renamed as Raducanu Ridge following her meteoric rise.

But prior to the fame and adoration, the teen attended Bickley Primary School in Bromley and recently paid tribute to her roots.

The tennis star visited the primary school, handing out medals and hitting tennis balls with the proud pupils who appeared excited to meet her.

Emma took to Twitter to share her visit and the post caption read: “Amazing visit to my own @BickleyPrimary, such a warm welcome and many sweet memories of this place! #LTAYouth.”
