A fatality on the tracks between East Croydon and Purley stations has caused severe disruption across South London.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 7am on September 11 with Southern Rail reporting that “all lines are blocked”.
South Croydon and Purley Oaks stations were both closed in the wake of the incident.
A spokesperson for Southern Rail said: “An incident occurred this morning which required the emergency services to attend.
“It is with great sadness that we report that this has now been confirmed as a fatality. All relevant teams are on site and managing the incident.”
