When we think of the most quaint neighbourhoods in our beloved capital, it is easy to overlook the East End of town.
West London is well known for its picturesque homes, and areas such as Kensington and Chelsea are considered some of London’s most desirable areas if you’re looking for beautiful property.
On the other side of the city, there are plenty of knockout homes that are just as stunning as any you’ll find in Kensington – if not even better!

Just north of Victoria Park, you will find a beautiful neighbourhood that will make you feel as though you’ve travelled to a beautiful countryside village.
Victoria Park Village is a leafy area of south Hackney, west of the Olympic Village and within walking distance of the peaceful Victoria Park.
The neighbourhood has an unmistakable designer feel, with bespoke clothes stores, independent boutiques, old school greengrocers and an abundance of pubs and coffee shops for locals to enjoy.
Walking around the urban village, there are neat streets full of beautiful Victorian terrace houses, all with their own unique history and character.
According to RightMove, there are a number of perfect properties in the area – but don’t expect them on the cheap.
One glorious three-bedroom maisonette is currently on the market for £900,000 in the area.
There are also a number of trendy terraces up for grabs in the neighbourhood – one five-bedroom terrace is available for £2.5 million with three stunning airy reception rooms and a generous rear garden.
There are thousands of other properties waiting to be bought, all in walking distance from a number of Victoria Park Village’s best sights and for half of the price of similar homes you’ll find on the other side of the city.
According to walking tour website Coutours, Victoria Park Village has a “Vicar of Dibley feel” and is described as a “charming little oasis of calm is the perfect place to spend a sleepy Sunday”.
In the village, you can grab a pint at The Lauriston pub, pick up some roses from Hawthorne Florist or grab a curry at Lavang Spice.
You’ll find it’s easy to forget you’re even in London!
