Motorists across Hull can expect further traffic queues on the roads this Wednesday morning.
A survey by Hull People’s Panel reveals that 86 per cent of those who took part on traffic and travel believe the city has a major congestion problem.
The majority – 78 per cent – believe road works are the main issue with 59 per cent saying there are too many cycle lanes, with not enough off-road provision for those using bikes.
As schools return this week Humberside Neighbourhood Police Teams have issued this advice:
“Families are being advised to take to two wheels or travel on foot if they can and plan out journeys to allow extra time as an increase in traffic is expected.
“Community Officers have invited families to “rethink how they travel” encouraging all to walk and cycle where possible, especially for families that live within a mile of their school.”
