Man rushed to hospital after being assaulted at new Southall station due to serve London Underground Elizabeth line

A man was rushed to hospital after being assaulted last night at Southall’s new station.

London’s ambulance service was called at 11:53pm yesterday (September 4) to reports of an assault at Southall station.

An ambulance crew rushed to the scene to treat a man before taking him to hospital.

A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service told My London: “We were called at 11.53pm yesterday (4 September) to reports of an assault at Southall station.

“We sent an ambulance crew, who treated a man at the scene and took him to a hospital.”

Southall station opened its new ticket hall over a week ago ahead of the arrival of the Elizabeth line next year.

The new ticket hall, which is built from glass and steel, has a brighter and spacious entrance.

The hall also has three new lifts and a new footbridge to allow for step-free access to all four platforms at the station.
