Leyton live: Air ambulance called out after ‘huge fight’ on High Road

An air ambulance has landed in a park and a key road has been closed after a big fight broke out on Leyton High Road.

According to witnesses one of the men fighting was armed with a hammer.

One man was found with a head injury and was rushed to hospital.

So far his condition is unknown.

Police were called to Leyton High Road shortly before 6pm to reports of the fight.

An air ambulance was seen landing in nearby Drapers Field.

The road remains closed and a crime scene is in place

Although rumours circulated online there was a stabbing the Met Police say have no reports of one occuring.

One witness, who had to get off the bus he was on, reported seeing the victim “bleeding on the ground”.
