Drugs gang jailed after huge stash of cocaine and heroin ‘worth £88,000’ found in raids

Members of a drugs gang have been jailed for a total 32 years after a large stash of cocaine and heroin was found during a police raid of a house in East London.

Drugs with a potential value of £66,000 were recovered from an address in Ilford on August 28 last year along with evidence of a county lines drug supply from London into Sussex.

Liban Abdulle, Abubaker Sahal, Igors Gogu, Holly Gittings and Adam Braggs all appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Friday (August 27) to be sentenced for being concerned in the supply of drugs.

The court heard that officers from Metropolitan Police and Sussex Police executed two Misuse of Drugs Act warrants at properties in Ilford and West Sussex.

Inside the Ilford address, in Pittman Gardens, around 700 grams of class A drugs with a value estimated at £66,000 were seized.

Abdulle, Sahal and Gogu were present at the property and were all arrested at the scene.

Police also recovered the “deal line phone”, controlling what was known as the “Henry” drugs line selling heroin and crack cocaine on the streets of Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

At the raid of a flat in Bognor Regis, Gittings and Braggs were present and arrested.

They were found with more than 1,000 wraps of class A drugs with a potential street value of £12,000.

A car owned by Gogu was also seized, which had been moving drugs from Ilford to Bognor.

All aside from Gogu pleaded guilty prior to trial. However, he was subsequently found guilty by a jury at Guildford Crown Court on June 30.

Passing sentence, Judge Stephen Mooney described how Abdulle and Sahal, neither of whom has any ties to Sussex, had overseen the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine onto the streets.

He added that class A drugs “wrecked lives and communities and had a corrosive effect on society”.

Abdulle, 30, from Pittman Gardens, Ilford, was on prison licence when at the time of the raid. He was jailed for seven and a half years.
