Leyton fatal shooting live: Estate ‘locked down’ after teenager shot dead in gun attack

An East London estate has been ‘locked down’ after a fatal shooting that left a teenager dead.

Police were called to reports of a shooting in the Beaumonth Road estate at around 1.30am on Wednesday, September 1.

They later found a male, believed to be in his late teens, suffering from gunshot wounds on Beaumont Road.

Despite the best efforts of officers and the London Ambulance Service, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 2.28am.

His next of kin are yet to be informed.

A crime scene remains in place.

Residents reported that the estate was ‘locked down’ with nobody allowed to leave unless they need to get food or go to hospital.
