Cotswold pub ‘attack’: Attempted murder arrest after man hospitalised

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident outside a Cotswold pub.

Officers were called to Kingsbridge Public House in Bourton on the Water at 10.35pm last night (August 28) amid reports a man had been punched and fallen unconscious following an altercation.

Gloucestershire Constabulary officers and paramedics attended to the man, who was hospitalised at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with suspected head injuries.

Police confirmed the man is still in hospital today (August 29), but is now in a “stable condition”.

A 52-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 50-year-old woman from London was arrested on suspicion of public order offences.

Police confirmed both remain in police custody for questioning.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A number of people were at the pub at the time and investigating officers are asking anyone who hasn’t already spoken to police to please get in contact.
