‘There’s more plate than food’: ‘Depressing’ £30 meal at The Shard has Twitter in hysterics

This is what £30 will buy you in London’s tallest landmark. Yup.

The above picture was posted to Twitter, by 21-year-old user @raveen_x, with the caption: “Guys look at my £30 meal I got at the Shard.”

The image shows a piece of chicken, potato and a blob of brown sauce. The fries in the background of the picture cost an additional £5, according to the poster.

As commenters below the tweet pondered what the dish even was, the user clarified: “That’s chicken by the way.

“The fries were £5 extra. What an L.”

Debate raged in the replies, with one writing: “I don’t think she would’ve minded the prices of the food was nice… that chicken looks like it’s been in the sun far too long!!”

Another quipped: “Someone s*** on your plate and charged you £30 for it.”

A third penned: “I’d actually cry… imagine skipping lunch because you know you’re going to the Shard and this is what they come out with for £30. My condolences.”

One helpful user pointed out that a far cheaper alternative is just down the street – the iconic pie chain Manze’s.
