Harry Kane finally breaks silence on Man City transfer speculation confirming Tottenham decision

Harry Kane has confirmed he will be staying at Tottenham amid talk of a summer transfer from the club.

The England captain has been heavily linked with a move to Man City but has now revealed his plans to remain in north London for the foreseeable future.

Kane’s future had been a major talking point since May and he is believed to have been keen on a fresh challenge and the chance to link up with Pep Guardiola’s team.

However, City have not done enough to turn Daniel Levy’s head, with the Premier League champions believed to have only made a bid of £75million plus £25m in add-ons for the England captain.

Appearing odds-on to head to the Etihad Stadium at one stage, Tottenham always maintained that they had no intention of selling their main man and now the player will continue to play his football in north London.

Taking to social media on Wednesday afternoon, Kane provided an update on his future and confirmed the news that all Spurs fans had been hoping for.

“It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks,” he explained.

“I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success. #COYS.”

Coming off the bench for the Lilywhites in Sunday’s 1-0 win away at Wolves, Kane could potentially now be handed his first start of the season either on Thursday against Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League or at the weekend when they host Watford in the league.

Nuno Espirito Santo is due to speak to the media at 1.30pm to preview the European game and he will give his thoughts on the news that the frontman will be remaining at Tottenham.
