The very famous dad of Only Fools and Horses star Roger Lloyd Pack who is a horror film icon

Roger Lloyd Pack graced our television screens for decades and become best known for his iconic role in Only Fools and Horses.

The actor, who was a part of our lives for generations, played Trigger in the BBC sitcom between 1981 until 2003.

Famed for calling Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst) by the name ‘Dave’, road-sweeper Trigger wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer but his naive approach to life was something to be admired.

And who can forget the moment he proudly tells long-term pals Del Boy (David Jason), Rodney, and Boycie (John Challis) about a medal he’s received from the local council for using the same broom for twenty years.

As they dine in Sid’s Cafe, Trigger shows the lads a photo of himself pictured alongside Councillor Murray and innocently announces that his ‘well-looked after’ broom has had 17 new heads and 14 new handles.

Trigger’s ‘well-maintained broom’ of course is one of the most memorable jokes from the BBC sitcom created by John Sullivan.

Originally from Islington, Roger is also famed for playing Owen Newitt in The Vicar of Dibley.
