After a scorching hot and sunny July, August weather in London has been somewhat lacklustre.
So Londoners might be disappointed to hear we’re only in for more of the same in the short term.
The BBC predicts things will brighten up next week – but not before yet another grey and rainy August weekend.

The weather forecaster predicts another cloudy day on Friday (August 20), followed by showers throughout the weekend.
Luckily, things seem to be looking up from Monday, when sunny intervals are forecast for the whole of next week.

Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of what to expect this weekend:
Friday, August 20
This Friday we can expect light cloud and a gentle breeze throughout the day, with highs of 22 degrees and lows of 14 degrees.
Saturday, August 21
The dull grey skies will continue on through Saturday morning and early afternoon until 3pm, when these will be replaced by light rain showers and a gentles breeze.
Londoners can expect highs of 24 degrees and lows of 15 degrees on Saturday.
Sunday, August 22

Once again we can expect light rain showers and a gentle breeze throughout the day on Sunday, with highs of 21 degrees and lows of 16 degrees.
The rain looks to stop by around 8 or 9pm.
