South London crime: Police in bio-hazard suits execute warrants at three properties in drug crackdown

Police conducted a series of warrants across South London as part of a drug crackdown.

Officers were spotted in bio-hazard suits and respirators outside an address in Acre Lane, Brixton, shortly after 5.20pm today (August 15).

The Metropolitan Police explained it was part of a wider operation in the area.

Officers say investigations remain on-going but insist the operation was not terror related.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police in Lambeth conducted an operation to execute three warrants at residential properties in Acre Lane and Lakeview Road on Sunday, August 15.

“The operation is part of an intelligence-led investigation into drugs supply and remains ongoing.

“The operation is not terror-related.”
