Inter Milan have Lautaro Martinez transfer plan amid Arsenal and Tottenham interest

Arsenal and Tottenham are both said to be interested in signing Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez this month.

football.londonlearned at the weekend that Spurs have agreed a fee in excess of €60million (£50million) for the Argentina international, which puts them ahead of the Gunners in the race to land the 23-year-old.

However, Mikel Arteta is thought to be interested in signing Martinez, who has been so impressive for Inter over the past couple of seasons.

Inter, who are also close to selling Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea for £97.5million, could already be planning for life without their two star forwards.

According to Sky Sports Italia’s correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio, via Sempre Inter, the Serie A champions are interested in signing Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne this month.

The 30-year-old Italy international is now in the final year of his contract in Naples and could be sold this month in order to generate some funds for the Italian club.

The report claims that Inter could sign Insigne for around €25million (£21.2million) rather than Napoli letting him leave on a free transfer next summer.

This is a rather modest fee for someone of Insigne’s talent, but everything is pointing that life post-Martinez is being planned at the San Siro.

Martinez, despite being linked with a move to either north London club, is supposedly “happy” at Inter, according to his agent Alejandro Camano, who addressed speculation over his client’s future earlier this month.

“Lautaro is an Inter player and is happy in Italy. The renewal? Lautaro is from Inter, he will never enter into conflict with the club. Never, this is reality,” Camano told FCInter1908.
