PSV boss Roger Schmidt sends Noni Madueke transfer message amid Tottenham links

PSV Eindhoven head coach Roger Schmidt has issued a warning that Noni Madueke is not for sale this summer amid links of a return to Spurs.

The Englishman only departed north London three years ago and has developed into one of the most exciting young wide players in European football.

A series of fantastic performances has seen him linked with a number of Premier League clubs and Spurs are reportedly amongst those and could potentially re-sign Madueke.

Despite the current interest in the 19-year-old, Schmidt has told that having already let a number of key players go this summer, the club are not looking to sell Madueke.

Speaking to ESPN, he said: “I’m not afraid [of Madueke leaving], why should I be? He will one day leave PSV if he continues to develop like he is now.

“I’m not afraid it will happen now. We can’t sell key players anymore. We’ve already done that with Donyell Malen, Denzel Dumfries and Pablo Rosario, so we can’t lose any more.

“And PSV is also a fantastic club for Noni to develop. He is very young, he can play a lot here, score goals and cheer with the team. I think he feels very good here.”

Following a breakthrough campaign in which he scored nine goals and notched eight assists in all competitions last season, Madueke appears to have taken his performances to an even higher level so far this term.

He has scored four goals in as many appearances this season, also providing an assist, and has been a key player behind PSV’s task to reach the Champions League group stages for the first time in three years.

The youngster has three years left to run on his current PSV deal.
