London weather live: Updates as heavy rain causes flooded streets in South London

It’s been a wet August so far and that isn’t set to change any time soon as London has seen heavy rainy and stormy showers today (7 August).

And there is more rain forecast for the capital this weekend, according to the Met Office.

London has been the victim of flooding, thunder and storms in recent weeks and the height of summer it still not going to feel as it should this weekend.

The rain has already caused some travel disuption with Transport for London reporting that trains were unable to stop at the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Line platforms at Liverpool Street.

Areas of East London, including Walthamstow have been particularly badly affected.

It’s going to be a very wet and rainy day on Saturday as it is forecast to pour through its entirety.
