Arsenal news and transfers live: James Maddison update, £25m Aouar deal possible, Willock exit

Hello and welcome to Friday’s Arsenal live blog from football.london

Arsenal have less than four weeks left of the transfer window to complete their transfer dealings as chief executive Edu is keen to bring in a goalkeeper and an attacking midfielder.

The Gunners have already added Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White to their ranks and are hoping to bring in a shot-stopper to challenge Bernd Leno and a creative playmaker to help unlock defences next season.

Leicester City’s James Maddison appears to be the main target for the no.10 position and football.london understands that Arsenal have seen a player-plus-cash deal for the Leicester City midfielder knocked back.

The north London club have offered the Foxes Hale End graduates Reiss Nelson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah but the East Midlands side want any deal to be cash only.

Sheffield United ‘keeper Aaron Ramsdale has also been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium but given the Blades asking price is reportedly in excess of £30million, a deal is far from being completed.

Arsenal have also been linked with a host of centre-forwards, with the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Tammy Abraham both discussed as potential targets if Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette leaves this month.
