A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle in Herts.
A previous report on this incident included a statement from emergency services noting that a cyclist had been involved in a collision with a vehicle. However, police logs on road traffic collisions can change quickly, and it has since been confirmed by Herts Police that the collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, not a cyclist.
Police rushed to London Road in Welwyn, Hertfordshire, at around 10.10am yesterday morning (Tuesday, August 3).

It came after reports of a collision between a person and a car.
The pedestrian, who was out jogging, was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage with serious injuries.
When police arrived at the scene the vehicle involved wasn’t there, but it was tracked down shortly after and officers have been carrying out enquiries to find out what happened.

Police are urging any witnesses to come forward.
A Herts Police spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly before 10.10am on Tuesday, August 3, following a road traffic collision in London Road, Welwyn.
“It was reported that a vehicle and a pedestrian were involved.
“Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”

They continued: “The vehicle was not at the scene on police arrival but was traced a short while later, along with the driver and enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances around what happened.
“Anyone who saw the incident, or who may have captured dash cam footage, is asked to please contact police on 101.”
An East of England Ambulance spokesperson said yesterday: “An ambulance attended a road traffic collision on the London Road in Welwyn just before 10.15am this morning [Tuesday, August 3].
“An adult man was transported to the Lister Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
