Welwyn London Road: Man rushed to hospital after cyclist and vehicle involved in serious crash

A man has been rushed to hospital after a cyclist and a vehicle were involved in a collision this morning (Tuesday, August 3).

Herts Police were called shortly before 10.10am today following a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist in London Road, Welwyn, Hertfordshire.

Motorists are still urged to avoid the area while road closures are in place as officers continue their work in establishing what happened.

According to traffic maps, vehicles on High Street, School Lane and The Green are all being affected by the closure and delays are expected.

Officials have now confirmed a man has been taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage to receive further treatment.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “An ambulance attended a road traffic collision on the London Road in Welwyn just before 10.15am this morning.

“An adult man was transported to the Lister Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
