The Royal Family have eaten in some of the best restaurants and sampled the food of some of the world’s finest chefs.
Given that the Queen was raised in castles and palaces and has travelled to over 120 countries in her 69-year reign, it’s very likely she is quite the connoisseur in fine dining.
But the reality is, the Queen is only human after all and will no doubt have stumbled across foods she hasn’t liked in her impressive 95 years.

The first food always avoided by the royals is rare meat- particularly when they’re on their travels.
Eating rare meat carries many risks, such as E. coli and Salmonella.
When the royals are abroad they are said to steer clear of rare meat so they don’t run the risk of becoming ill and having to withdraw from their official engagements.
Even though the Queen will never eat rare meat while she’s out and about, she is reportedly a big fan of steak, specifically, well done Gaelic steak.
Next on the list is shellfish. Much like rare meat, eating shellfish can carry many health risks and the royals are advised to avoid it.
Former royal butler Grant Harold told Woman & Home magazine: “It is a very sensible move to abandon having seafood when out and about on public duties.
“We don’t want a member of the Royal Family having a serious reaction to food poisoning, especially if she is on an overseas tour.”
Even though the Queen is believed to always stick to the guidelines, other members of her family are likely to break it. Prince William previously revealed his love of sushi and Prince Charles has been known to sample shellfish.
We already know that the 95-year-old monarch is incredibly health conscious and we think we might have stumbled upon one of her best kept secrets.
She’s said to avoid foods which contain a high amount of starch, including pasta, rice and potatoes.
Former royal chef, Darren McGrady previously disclosed that the Queen does not care much for pasta and likes to eat meals containing fish or meat and vegetables instead.
Even if the Queen does relent on her ‘no starch’ rule, you will certainly not find any tomato sauce-based dishes at Buckingham Palace.
Given that the eyes of the world’s media are glaring at the Queen wherever she goes, the last thing she’s going to want to do is spill “messy” tomato sauce down her dress.
Much like her eldest son, it seems the Queen is also quite the stickler for organic farming practices.
According to McGrady: “You can send strawberries every day to the Queen during summer at Balmoral and she’ll never say a word. Try including strawberries on the menu in January and she’ll scrub out the line and say don’t dare send me genetically modified strawberries.”
The next food is garlic. No, not because the Royal Family have been secretly masquerading as vampires all this time, but because of the bad breath that comes with it.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall confirmed this when she appeared on MasterChef Australia a few years ago. When asked what the royals won’t eat, Camilla said, “I hate to say this, but garlic. Garlic is a no-no.”
MasterChef judge Gary Mehigan asked her if garlic wasn’t allowed “because you’re talking, and chatting all the time,” to which she replied: “Yes, exactly. So you always have to lay off the garlic.”

You would be forgiven for confusing the Queen’s last food avoidance with that of a fussy toddler because, believe it or not, the Queen has the crusts cut off of her sandwiches.
Former royal chef, Owen Hodgson, told The Telegraph: “A chef told me off for serving the sandwiches with crusts.”
For the curious amongst you, Queen Elizabeth’s favourite sandwich is tuna mayo. She likes them made with thin slices of cucumber, and a sprinkle of pepper. Oh, and both bits of bread must be well buttered.
