The heatwave is well and truly over in the capital with some parts of London, including Hackney Wick, seeing dramatic instances of flash flooding.
In a video shared online, the harrowing extent of the water damage outside Hackney Wick station can be seen.
Shoppers are captured wading through the mucky water which has risen well above the pavement in the area.

Callum Winn captioned his video: “Anyone got a boat?” as the waters surged around him.
It is just the latest incidence of severe flooding in London on a day that has seen unseasonably high rain fall.

Areas of Camberwell, Walthamstow and Redbridge have all been hit hard by the water levels stranding shoppers and causing traffic chaos.
The Metropolitan Police have announced that London’s road network is under pressure with many important through roads like the A406 and Greenmans Tunnel currently impassable.
The London Fire Brigade has announced that they have field over 300 calls from residents concerning the floods.
In a short post on their Twitter account, a spokesman said: “Our Control Officers have now taken around 300 calls to reports of #flooding.

“Avoid driving or walking through flood water. Remember to only call 999 in an emergency.”
