Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic as they attempt to bolster their centre-back options.
Spurs have been busy in the window so far having welcomed Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil from Atalanta and Sevilla respectively, but still need defensive reinforcements.
They have been strongly linked to Gollini’s former Atalanta teammate Cristian Romero and football.london understands that advanced talks are underway. It has previously been reported by football.london that there is a growing confidence that an agreement can be found with his current employers and that the player himself is keen on joining Spurs.
Despite his potential arrival, Spurs have not stopped their search for yet more centre-back options, especially with Toby Alderweireld’s departure to Al-Duhail having been confirmed.

One name that is apparently on the list is that of Fiorentina defender Milenkovic.
According to The Athletic, the Serbian is available on a relatively straight-forward deal with just one year remaining on his contract.
It is suggested that €15m (£12.7m) would be enough to prise him away from the Serie A outfit and that the player himself is keen on a switch to the Premier League.
The 23-year-old has been with Fiorentina since a 2017 switch from Partizan Belgrade.
He has made 133 appearances for the club since and has impressed in that time despite La Viola having only finished in the top-half of Serie A once since his arrival.
Despite his somewhat tender age, Milenkovic has already amassed 28 appearances on the international stage for Serbia and was even included in his country’s squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
As it stands, Nuno Espirito Santo’s centre-back options are Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez – although the latter two have been linked with a move away from north London this summer.
