Bromley: Police appeal after 16-year-old killed in scooter crash

A teenage boy has died following a crash between a car and an e-scooter in south-east London.

The collision happened on Southborough Lane in Bromley in the early hours of this morning, with police called at 1.20am.

A 16-year-old boy, who had been riding the e-scooter, was found with serious injuries.

He was rushed to a central London hospital where he died.

The driver of the car, a red Fiat Punto, did not stop at the scene following the collision. The vehicle was later found in Southwood Close, Bromley.

A 20-year-old man, who was driving the car, has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision, causing death by dangerous driving and providing a positive alcohol breath test. 

Met Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
