An Aylmer man critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in south London has died.
Jake Epp, 26, of Aylmer was the driver of one of the two vehicles that collided on Colonel Talbot Road, south of Highway 401 around 7 a.m. on Thursday.
He suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he later died, London police confirmed on Friday.
Epp leaves behind a wife and four children. A GoFundMe campaign launched late Thursday to help his family raised nearly $69,000 within 20 hours. His employer Concretus Specialties Ltd. donated $40,000 of that to support Epp’s young family.
“Jake made all of our work days better when he was around. His smile, humour and great attitude was like no other,” the Concretus wrote. “Jake will be missed every day at Concretus moving forward. Prayers to all of his family and friends.”
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was treated for minor injuries.
The crash kept a section of Colonel Talbot Road between Orr Drive and the 401 closed for nearly six hours.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
