Family’s plea to help fund cancer treatment for beloved mother and grandmother at groundbreaking London clinic

Sharon Holt’s family is raising money in order to fund her potentially life prolonging, specialist treatment in London.

Mrs Holt, 53, from Pontypool, Wales, has been diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer in her liver and bone, for which there is no cure – but expensive groundbreaking treatment could give her more time.

She has already beaten cancer once in 2012 and endured six rounds of chemotherapy before, prior to this new diagnosis.

The family want to raise £20,000 to help extend Sharon’s life for as long as they can.

Daughter Sophie Holt, 27, said: “Mum had her first consultation with a specialist Oncologist from a clinic last week and feels as if she has been given a lifeline, however none of this comes cheap.

“Given that there is no cure for Mum’s cancer, she will need ongoing treatment for the rest of her life and this is the reason we, as a family, have decided to set up this page.

“This journey has not only changed my Mum’s life forever, but our whole families.

“She is the strongest woman I know, and I know she will fight this with everything she has got. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone for helping my mum fight for her life.”

Currently, at the time of writing, £8,625 has been raised in three days.
