Pensioner in ‘critical condition’ after being hit by moped in Penge

A pensioner is critically sick in hospital after being knocked down by a moped in Penge.

Officers have been known as to Maple Road, Penge, to studies of a crash between a pedestrian and moped on Friday (April 16) at round 11am.

The sufferer, aged in his 70s, was rushed to a South London hospital.

He stays in a “essential situation” and his household have been knowledgeable.

The rider of the moped, a 24-year-old man, stopped on the scene and was arrested.

The Metropolitan Police stated he had been taken to a South London police station the place he stays in custody.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command have launched an investigation.

A Met Police spokesperson stated: “They wish to converse with anybody who witnessed the collision or who captured it on dashcam.

“Anyone with info is requested to name the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based mostly at Catford on 020 8285 1574.”
