Police looking out for lacking London student Richard Okorogheye have discovered the body of a person in Epping Forest, Essex.
The Metropolitan police mentioned they’d been knowledgeable by the Essex pressure that the body had been found in a pond and efforts have been beneath option to determine it, including that detectives investigating the 19-year-old’s disappearance had been knowledgeable.
A search in Epping Forest for Okorogheye, involving police canines and divers, entered its fifth day on Monday. Officers scoured ponds and lakes within the 83,700 acres of woodland to the north-east of London.
Okorogheye, who was finding out laptop science at Oxford Brookes University, has not been seen by his household since 22 March, when he left his house in Ladbroke Grove, west London, with none cash or remedy. He was seen boarding the 23 bus at 8.45pm that day.
He took a taxi to Loughton in Essex, and was later noticed on CCTV close to Epping Forest within the early hours of 23 March. He was wearing all black, with a white Adidas brand throughout his decrease again and had a black satchel bag.
He has sickle cell illness and had been shielding throughout the pandemic due to his situation, which required him to take each day tablets and hold hydrated. His mom, Evidence Joel, mentioned he had solely left the home for common blood transfusions in hospital.
On Saturday, police appealed to him to get in contact and “tell us you might be secure”. His mom had beforehand spoken of her frustration on the police’s preliminary sluggish response to his disappearance being reported.
At the weekend, she instructed the Guardian of the “hell” of ready for news a fortnight after he disappeared.
The Met mentioned Okorogheye’s household have been being supported by officers and stored conscious of developments.
